Check-Ups
Your child will receive a thorough exam, gentle cleaning and polishing, along with personalized prevention and treatment recommendations. If needed, we’ll also take x-rays and apply fluoride.
The reason children continue to have cavities is not because the bacteria are difficult to get off the teeth. It is because most children don't know where their toothbrush has been missing. We spend time with your child, teaching proper oral hygiene techniques and removing plaque, stain and calculus.
Our professional cleanings may occasionally utilize a disclosing solution, a pink vegetable dye that highlights plaque on the teeth, helping your child identify areas missed during brushing.
All Exams Include:
Comprehensive evaluation of health and growth.
A visual examination to assess the developing occlusion, cavities, the jaw and soft tissues.
Any necessary x-rays, to assess growth and development, and cavities.
Practical tips for maintaining oral hygiene.
Guidance on healthy dietary choices.
Discussion of habits that may impact dental health and growth.
Opportunity to address any questions you may have regarding your child’s dental care.
The standard interval for examinations is six months; however, some children may need more or less frequent visits based on their historical, clinical, and radiographic findings.
